i kind of want a scooter to ride to/from work on. would that make me a complete tool? if you saw me on the street, would you judge me? i see a few people on the street with them. they look like fun. also, there are group scooter rides in central park every month. yep.
i'm getting a scooter.
i got my first AI paycheck today. wow. i'm gonna be taking home an additional $500 a month with my raise and tax changes (i claim 1 instead of 0 now -- hoping this doesn't bite me in the ass). i am also contributing to an IRA yayyyayayy. i love my new job. there was a big presentation for the whole company yesterday on a product we recently delivered for citibank. everyone did such a great job and i felt really proud to be working at this company.

this is my first update from my shiny new laptop wowowowwWOWww! it even has a built in webcam. i am at my favorite cafe in east village right now. finally i am a douchebag yuppie isolating himself in an electronic world at the cafe ^_____^ but at least i'm not a mac user.

work was fun today. i really love my job rofl :| the dog finally snapped at me though. i went in to pet him but i think he was tired/cranky and he jumped up at me and started biting my knees. he wasn't being really aggressive but he was in a mood. i gave that little bitch strawberries the other day and this is how i am repaid.

today i am $600 richer, so i paid my student loans for the month ($350) and registered for a silkscreen class at SVA ($285). i'm only $35 in the hole and i feel like an empowered consumer. thanks, government!
today marks the end of my first week at AI. i love it more and more each day. what a fantastic place. and we just got mariokart. because, you know, i need more distractions at this office. but i get my shit done.
this weekend is going to be fun (saturday) and annoying (sunday). on saturday me and teddy are checking out the murakami exhibit at the brooklyn museum and that will be most excellent. on SUNDAY i have to be at my apartment all day since one of my roommates is moving out and we need to find a replacement. >:O i hope we find someone quiet and antisocial.

the bg song is amazing. it reminds me of old mario paint music.
i remember seeing some murakami stuff at the MFA in boston a few years ago. there was this gigantic 30 foot tall sculpture exploding with flowers with cute little smiling faces on them and i was filled with wonderment and joy and i tried to take a pic of it but the museum carny told me i couldn't!!!!!!thgat BASTARD

ummm i love my new job. i'm so excited to start. today they invited me over for their late friday festivities. apparently in the last few hours of friday everyone just kind of hangs out and drinks beer and winds down. it was great. i had a sam's summer ale. i met the people on my team and they're all cool. we played foosball.
i also saw where i'll be working. i sit by the window overlooking 22nd street. nice. :)
tonight i acted as the man of leisure that i am and went for a stroll in the village and then saw a movie. first movie i've seen in theaters since harry potter 5 last july. crazy. i saw "in bruges". i enjoyed it but i think $12 for a ticket is a little much for a small neighborhood theater. also $9 for a small popcorn and a water is just outrageous.
i want to see "the diving bell and the butterfly" next. i'll save up.
and now i'm going to bed. before 12:30. on a friday. it has been an exhausting week. i am hoping for a calm weekend. tomorrow i am doing chores/errands then heading out to astoria to meet someone. on sunday i have a guitar lesson. that's all. have a good weekend everyone ^____^
